Dec 20th 2014 Life in NZ MTC

Life In the MTC is such a great experience and even better journey. I'm finding apart of me I have never seen and discerning my role here and now.
I'm more alert, clean and punctual. I attend to the needs of all missionaries so this becomes a good experience for them. I look out for those missionaries and love them dearly.

I trust in the Lord dearly with my family. Through teaching, a scripture that has helped me is D&C 84:85 read and you will understand. Also Alma 31;35 is a great missionary scripture, but Moses 7:18 ties it all together.

Being here has truly made me a different person. I guess I'm just becoming more wise haha.

I'm really enjoying myself here, the company of other Elders with me are pretty cool. Being surrounded by those with the same desire is Powerful.

I hope all is well with everyone, ensure my love and prayers for all is strong. I am safe and well, not to worry. I'm in the Lord's hands. May the spirit guide you to peace and eternal glory.

Dec 30th Last Day in NZ MTC

Last day here in the MTC and what an experience it has been. This place is amazing, had the best experience ever and honestly, I have grown both Physically and Spiritually.

My teacher shows much love to myself and my companion and said that she loved the way we taught her. (She acted as an investigator for our role play) weLL she said the ideas we bought to the MTC have never before been done! So that kept me on a high.

Christmas day was amazing, and thank you Mum for sneaking in those special stuff for me to open, I'm so grateful. We were also spoilt with many gifts from the MTC and from Elder Pearson (Area Mission President for Pacific Area)  I taught the boys Tikai Tonu which we did as part of the NZ Culture.

I have been doing my best in class. Studying as much as I can, and using the Lord's time wisely and to the best of my ability.

I honestly want to thank you both for my upbringing. The past 18 years have helped me grow into the man I am today, and I will continue to grow. I feel this is my place, and the spirit...... I have learned to recognize the spirit within myself. I have many great experiences because of it.

I cannot wait to share more of my journey.

Dec 22nd 2014 Mission Training Center Auckland NZ

Hi
I'm so grateful for the little time I have to send you an email. It was great to talk with you all today, although Christmas day was fully booked, I was glad to hear from each and everyone of you and the excitement in your voices.

I miss you all so much but I have no worry. The way I think of it is, if the Lord trusts me to serve a full time Mission, then I truse him to look after my family.

I want to share something with you all.

Alma 37:37 - Counsel with the Lord in all thyour doings, and he will direct thee for good, yea when thou rises in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God;and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

I can promise that by following the direction given in this scripture, the promise he makes in the end will be fulfilled. There is another scripture I want to share. In Doctrine and Covenants 100:6
That talks about the spirit will guide you, or be there to offer a portion of the truth in that very hour it's needed. So never be discouraged if an answer to your prayer takes a while.

I love you all and cannot wait to hear from you.
Love always Elder Makai
